Do-In
massage
Shiatsu massage which means "finger" and "press" is derived from anma massage which was developed in Japan by blind massage therapists and means "push" and "rub". Do-In is mentioned in the classics means to "lead" and "pull" so it is leading and pulling the energy to the weaker areas of the body.
At Steves Acupuncture Clinic we use shiatsu do-in or anma massage when its appropriate to improve the flow of blocked energy or stuck blood and to warm or tonify the weaker areas of the body as well as to recycle or disperse any heat symptoms. We use it either on its own or with Acupuncture and Moxibustion treatment.
